Spiritual Warfare...

Lately I have felt the spiritual warfare going on for the souls of my children. I wish I could say that I was very diligent on praying as I should for them, their souls, and who they encounter, but I dont. The heaviness of see my heart seeing them struggle with what is right when it comes to relationships. The examples they have are this world and it is all around them.

It is hard to stand up, to stand strong for your faith, to be different and in all be lonely and long for that companion to live the rest of your life with. But truth be told shouldnt this be the time that you spend the most time in prayer? The most time in the word, the most time serving the body of Christ in one way or another? Filling the void, and loneliness with things of Christ and not allowing temptations, and distractions to keep you from the path the Lord would have.

As a parent it is so hard to watch your child struggle in that place, but truly they must come to a place walking with Christ on their own. Eventually you have to take their hand and place in the hands of our Lord Jesus knowing that you have given them all He would have you teach them and allow Him to lead them in their walk with Him.

Lord give me strength as I continue to guide them back to you, your Word so that they may live righteously for you.

My joy is your joy ,Lord, to see them bring forth seed for your kingdom, to stand for righteous in the hard times, and to rejoice in your presence.

God’s Gift

This morning I have been burden with a word to share so here it goes:

First I read: Acts Chapter 11: 1-18

Then, I read Mathew Henry’s commentary on Acts Chapter 11- Verser 1-18

“The imperfect state of human nature strongly appears, when godly persons are displeased even to hear that the word of God has been received, because their own system has not been attended to. And we are too apt to despair of doing good to those who yet, when tried, prove very teachable. It is the bane and damage of the church, to shut out those from it, and from the benefit of the means of grace, who are not in every thing as we are. Peter stated the whole affair. We should at all times bear with the infirmities of our brethren; and instead of taking offence, or answering with warmth, we should explain our motives, and show the nature of our proceedings. That preaching is certainly right, with which the Holy Ghost is given. While men are very zealous for their own regulations, they should take care that they do not withstand God; and those who love the Lord will glorify him, when made sure that he has given repentance to life to any fellow-sinners. Repentance is God's gift; not only his free grace accepts it, but his mighty grace works it in us, grace takes away the heart of stone, and gives us a heart of flesh. The sacrifice of God is a broken spirit.”

How are we as “godly people” displeased that the Word has been received- is it because it was done in a way we disapprove of?

How many of us shut out those on the street, homeless, or those who do not fit our criteria of a Christian?

We must be careful not to withstand God, we are to reach out to those, to give them the “gift” that has been so graciously bestowed upon us.

Repentance is a gift from God,let us all seek to bring all to repentance, not for self glory, but to bring Glory To God!!

Thank you Lord for your Word.. Continue to speak in me and through me!

The Dash (of Life)

Sermon By Pastor Persinger-

Psa 90:1-12

[[A Prayer of Moses the man of God.]]

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou [art] God.

Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

For a thousand years in thy sight [are but] as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are [as] a sleep: in the morning [they are] like grass [which] groweth up.

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale [that is told].

The days of our years [are] threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength [they be] fourscore years, yet [is] their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, [so is] thy wrath.

So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.

This life, right now, is your only opportunity to invest in your eternity.

Do you know why people squander their lives in things of this world?

because they Truly do not believe what the Word says.

- if you believed the Word, then you know that you will give an account for every idle word that comes out of your mouth

- if you believed the Word, then you know you are to love your neighbors, and  love the brethren

-if you believed the Word, then you know you are to forgive all trespasses as Christ has forgiven your trespasses.

-if you believed the Word, you know that the life you live today will effect your eternity.

James 4:14

Whereas ye know not what [shall be] on the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Don’t live your life in a way that would be displeasing to our Savior. Live your life knowing that you will face eternity sooner than you anticipated. Be ready to give an account. Be ready- so you may hear those sweet words “ Well done good and faithful Servant”.

Lord

Help us to see. Guide us through your Word. Speak to us and show us what has no value in eternity so we may live for you today, and not wait for tomorrow!

Thank you Jesus

Amen
